Golf's - Ryder Cup

The Ryder cup is to be played at the Celtic manor in 2009. The Welsh golf clubs are preparing for the event, you'll find them to be top quality challenging courses. While the big clubs and courses are preparing there's many smaller courses which offer fantastic golfing.
Hobo is located between two clubs Tredegar & Rhymney and the highest in Wales West Mon at Nantglo, to find more about them and other courses click on the links.

Group & Parties

For active people and the not so active we can put together a special experiance for your group.

Just let us know the number and approx age range of your group, the sort of things you like to do and a budget. We'll suggest a number and range of items that will fit together. You can then either book it directly with the operators or we'll make arangements for you.

Type of Activities Include:

Hill-walking, Gorge-walking, Mountain biking, Quad biking, Assault courses, Paint ball, Go-karting, Climbing, Caving, Power Kites, Grass-boarding, Horse riding.

Multi-activity days, can include 3 or 4 activities or weather pemiting a day on the beach including surfing, climbing, power kites and loads more.

Not so active:

Beauty make overs, Massarge, Castle & Heritage sight-seeing tours, Rugby matches, Glamour Photography and photography courses.

Suggested idears:
Activities can be a full day or taster sessions combined with other's to make a varied activity day.
Below are just a few suggestions of activity combinations that are possible.

Hobo Backpackers is a great base for Re-union and Get-together parties.
Whether it's a school, college, university or family get together.
There's a wide choice of options to chose from, making it easy to organise locally, something for everyone to enjoy.

  • Underground tour of a coalmine.
  • Fun beauty makeovers, or a relaxing sunbed session.
  • Hobo has a large kitchen and dining room suitable for group meals with a selection of games.
    A relaxed atmosphere and your imagination make it a memorable event.

  • There's a range of entertiners from lectures to belly dancers, disco's and or singers.

Rally of Wales


The Rally of Wales has for the last few years been held in the forests of South Wales with a special stage in Cardiff. Hobo is conveniently located on the A465 and A470, which makes it easy to get to stages, in South and Mid Wales.
